Tyre mixture????.
I guess this question has been asked a million times before but is it a complete no no to mix tyres from wranglers or similar to an AT tyre on different axles. Need a couple of tyres on back and would like to make the move to grabbers but not sure I can stomach 4 just before Christmas. If not might just have to stick with normal tyres this time round.

Same tyre on whole axles, (i.e. front only or rear Only) you would be OK, but understand the different characteristics. Of course ideal would be same all round, but you're not going to Mud tyres, only road to AT. I don't think yoiu'd see much difference so personally I wouldn't have a problem with it.Bodsys Brake Bible
It's not ideal, but I agree with Bodsy. Just be aware of the fact and drive accordingly. Also, put the new tyres on the rear (understeer being preferable to oversteer especially on a Disco)

Interesting as it does make me inclined to do it as the front will be next on the hit list.
I had a very interesting experience in some light snow and ice on Sunday and my low back tyres were very obvious. Also now in more rural area and think the atr's or grabbers may be more useful.......
I will see what local tyre guy has in stock...
Thanks.
