General Grabber AT help please.
I have been asked for some Testimonials on the General AT tyres, so if anyone has time maybe you could send some to me, thanks in advance.

Hi, just replaced my set of Goodyear Wranglers in preparation for winter in Scotland with a set of Grabber AT's. 255/60/18 on SE alloys. So far i've not had a chance to try them out off of the road but on the road they seem really quite good. No noticeable increase in road noise, however so far i have noticed a drop of 3-4MPG in fuel usage,which was expected. As far as comfort/ride quality, it's every bit as good as the Goodyear Wranglers which surprised me. I was expecting a drop in ride comfort with the tyres being quite stiff on the sidewall and chunky in the tread department but it's no more harsh at all. Overall so far i'm suitably impressed. The only trouble i had was finding a set up here in Scooootlandshire, everywhere was out of stock or they were on back order Finally found a set at ATS Dundee, paid £625 for the set fitted.
I have had AT2s for about 40.000 km and am very happy with them They look fantastic, are great offroad and pretty good on the road. Road noise very acceptable. One has to be a bit careful in the wet, but altogether, pretty much the perfect tyre. I do 20 km of track road every day.The older I get, the better I was.

When the original fitment Pirelli Scorpions on my Land Rover Discovery 3 needed replacing, I spent quite some time researching my options.
The General AT had just been launched, and could be supplied in the required 255/55/R19 size, they are also ‘high load’ rated.
They were fitted by AJS4x4.
I have been really impressed with them as a good all round tyre for my mix of driving conditions, and they have outperformed the original fitment tyres in all respects.
My only concern before having them fitted was that they were going to be noisy on normal roads, but I was pleasantly surprised that they are no more noisy than the old tyres, despite their much more aggressive tread pattern.
On the road the car feels very sure footed, especially in the wet, and our occasional green lane trips with mud and standing water have also not been a problem. Plus I was very impressed with them in the Snow and Ice last winter, which proved great fun with the confidence the tyres gave.
I tow a 3tn boat and trailer combination around quite often, so the tyres have also been asked to deal with wet grass and slimy slipways whilst pulling additional weight, which they’ve also coped with very well.
Overall, I’m very happy with them.

What a nice post. I'm in the market for two replacement scorpions now so am keeping a look out for advice like this. I would go for grabbers or atrs myself if only the rears weren't in such good shape.Previous cars

Hya,
so Grabbers are starting to look like an alternative on my 20" rims for D4. Has anyone anything to say/remark/praise/... on GRABBER AT 275/45 R20 110H. I reckon as 285/50 R20 are already used on standard 20" rims, they oughta fit as well.
Any thoughts?

I recently had a set of Grabber ATs fitted to my Disco3 by AJS after my OEM Pirellis expired with 30k miles. I wanted long life tyres that could cope with road, offroad and winter. I've just returned from a 500mile shooting trip to Wales and the tyres were fantastic under all conditions - motorways, A roads and especially offroad. The car returned 29mpg over this period but what I really noticed was how sure footed the car felt and the huge improvement in turn in.
I'd strongly recommend these tyres to friends.

Footed and they make the car look 8) Just how a 4x4 should look. Previous pirelli scorpion zero's just felt like they were only half trying to stop the car for

Replaced wranglers on my D3 with grabbers and such a difference, far superior. Amazing the depth of snow it would plough through. Now with D4 have had them fitted from new and no complaints. Good in mud and on wet grass but not tried anything serious yet, waiting for the snow. Roll on the winter.

I've now had my General AT tyres on for a couple of thousand miles which has been a mix of motorway, country lanes and off road (green lanes and forest tracks). I have to say I am very happy with the performance of the tyres both on and off road. With what looks like an aggressive tread pattern I was worried that there would be quite a bit of road noise but this is not the case and they seem pretty sure footed when the going gets a bit claggy. All in all I'm very happy with the tyres

Hi all,
I, my self have been a BFG AT man for over 8 years now and loved them to bits. They had the tri-peak symbol for the required winter tyre in Germany. But now I have a D3 and on the 19inch rims I've got Vredestein WintracXtreme 4 tires, run great but are very vunerable for road dubery like screws and other bits and wire. There is no alternative with BFG. My question is are the AT2 winter approved for Germany, and are they strong enough for normal punichment with greenlaning etc.

I drove 20.000 km with my AT's 255/55/19 on my D4(not the same as AT2; these are the old versions) and I am extremely happy with them.
I looked for an offroad tyre with road manners. I found the MT's too uncomfortable on the road.
The AT's are remarkably silent and are great both onroad and offroad (so far).
These tyres are rated as wintertyres for Germany....

Having mine fitted on Tuesday next week, travel extensively so will post some thoughts when I can. Tough job finding a set for 18' at the moment as the majority of companies I tried were out of stock.
