Does all of these stick to the frame of the door or sit inside the window channel?

Has anyone actually successfully fitted the Climair ones yet cos the ones I bought won't allow the window to close? The profile of the rubber at the window corners is thicker and the only way I am going to get mine to fit is to pull out the Dremel (that I recently bought to get my locking wheel nut off) and start modifying them at the corner contact points Rolling Eyes

We have fitted numerous sets of Climair without problem and I have them fitted to all 4 windows of my own vehicle and no problems except a tiny bit of wind noise.

The bottom corner (nearest mirror) on each of the front ones does not sit in the channel (the instructions are a little confusing)
I can post pics tomorrow if you want

Interesting...yes would be grateful for pictures.

Apologies to Slimer for the thread hijack but have posted this matter up before and since no-one passed any comment I thought it was just me being thick (as usual). I will try and get some pics myself so you can see what my problem is.

Cheers

I have shoved a thin bladed knife up where the Climair deflector should sit, hopefully you can see what I mean about deforming the rubber so the window won't go up in the slot?

Can't really tell from the photo but it looks like the wrong place, the Climair wind deflector goes into the same slot at the window (apart from the front leading edge which sits on the plastic trim), that looks like you're trying to fit it between the seal and door frame

From memory and having fitted them to my Disco 1 the instructions tell you to insert them as I tried between the rubber and the window frame and not in the same slot as the window. Fit to my Disco 1 a treat in this way. They also told you to run a small amount of washing up liquid/ similar around the rubber with your finger to ease fitting.

If they are meant to go in your window slot they're gonna scratch your window and flop about when you lower it and you wouldn't need lubricant to get them in?

Must have been different from the D1. On the D3 they go into the window channel, you can use lubricant but I found it wasn't required. They don't scratch the window or flop about as they're a tight fit, you bend them a little to fit them then wind the window up (with a bit of help to overcome the anti-trap) and leave it up for 24 hours so they stay in shape

Take a look at http://www.climairuk.com/pages.php?pageid=2 and http://www.climairuk.com/climair_eng.wmv

Thanks just had a look but that video is deceiving as it still looks as though she's pushing it between rubber and metal but the wording in the instruction document says not.

Perhaps Climair have changed their mind about fitting as newer car design scuppered their USP. The non glass contact used to be one of their selling points and it was definitely the way they fitted to the Disco 1. The instructions had a cross sectional diagram telling you not to put them in the window channel. They explained that you had to remove the window clips from the leading edge to get them in. You wouldn't have to take them off if they intended them to be fitted in the window channel?

Cheers
