Sorry to hear about the eye, goggles next time!
Have a look at phenolic ply its what LR Special Vehicles use to make the loadbed in my freelander van. It takes loads of punishment and never have to worry about it rotting.

Cheers Pom
I have a supplier up here that dies it .. Unfotunatly it was double the price of the marine ply .
It's essentially the same , but with a extra layer on top . For the amount I will use the trailer .. I couldn't justify the priceG4 Gone ...but not forgotten

18" ply wiggs Jeez, you'd have no room for anything else
Looking great and I like the slideout cooker arrangement.
Just be wary of the length of flexible gaspipe you need as it may result in losing some pressure over that distance of slideout. We try to keep less than a metre of gas pipe for all the (bottled) gas cookers we use on camp. It's OK if you're using maybe copper pipe run all along the back of the whole unit & then just a shorter flexible pipe to connector when it's opened out to the body of the trailer? (assuming the gas pipe run from your gas bottle to the connector is copper too?
I assume that you'll have a drop down leg to give the cooker that extra support when it's got pots & pans on? Bodsys Brake Bible

Yes .. Looking for quick release gas connector that will mount on the body .. But only seem to find quick release ones that are not designed for mounting.
Wonder if airline connectors would work ?
Leggs !! Not sure if I will need them yet .. The slides hold 225 kg and the cooker/ sink is not very heavy . If it needs them then yes I will be making legs .. I have to make them for the drop down table I have also G4 Gone ...but not forgotten

I know the slides are well capable of the weight , but personally I'd have legs anyway to stop it from swaying at all, that length and you could get some twist. Not nice when you've got a bucket load of boiling hot water on the go at the extreme edge of a long lever. Wouldnt take much to have a hinged set dropping down & would fit under the frame you've made with no problem.
Just IMHO, but maybe I'm overly cautious with my runaround kids around
As for connector points, the External BBQ caravan connector points shoud do the trick Bodsys Brake Bible

Hope you like the cooker idea ..i thought it was quite a cool idea
Excellent Idea
just thinking though, if you had a big pot of something on the boil on the hob and a basin of water in the sink that would be quiet a weight and the runners mightn't hold it. What about two drop down legs to support it when its out and would fold up when it slides back in ???? Just a suggestion A happy childhood ... is the worst possible preparation for life.

Wiggs, this stuff is used on planes & gliders apparently & is mega strong. Perhaps an alternative to rivetting the panels?
But with an extra nut on it for mounting into the body .G4 Gone ...but not forgotten

..not a caravan ..it wont have any windows in it
I wouldnt make another one without some decent space to work on it ..somewere big and dry .
Everything is taking so long ..as im relying on the weather ( not a good thing living in Manchester ) ..having to take stuff out of my garage to find other stuff ..just not enough room .
I did look into renting a lock up ..but an old mill near me only had a huge place for 700 squid a month
Wifey not happy that i have trailer parts in proberly every room in the house G4 Gone ...but not forgotten
