D3 2005 manual clutch kit
I am needing a new clutch on my son’s D3 2005 TDV6 The garage that are doing the work have been told that it needs to be an oem clutch and not an aftermarket. I am not doubting the garage but surely this cannot be the case. It’s their supplier that is saying oem only.
Any thought?

OEM is good advice and the only one I will fit. I seen aftermarket clutches eaten after a very short service life.
There is a heavy duty aftermarket clutch manufacturer out there but I can't recall the name just now. Whatever you decide, make sure to replace the flywheel as well as the disc, p/plate, release bearing, and only new flywheel and d/shaft bolts. yµ (idµ - eAµ) ψ=mψ

Thanks for the reply. I am leaning towards oem but it would be nice to have a choice. I have found LOK that supply heavy duty clutches but to be fair I have got to 233k on the original I can’t see my needing a heavy duty item.
Take on board your comments re bolts etc, will make sure those are changed too
Thanks again.

Thanks for the reply’s. We went LUK clutch and flywheel in the end. They came recommended by almost all. We didn’t see the need for LOK heavy duty item. The original lasted 234k miles so more than happy with that.
