Found a picture of the location where that C2561 earth point is, personally I would disconnect the battery first before touching it, I usually wait for around 20 x minutes before touching anything to do with the airbag system , I just do that to be on the safe side
Then first as a way of eliminating things see if the ground connection wire is loose , then whilst ur there, undo the nut, give the wire terminals and earth post a good clean , there should be 2 x earth wires there
With the battery off, double check the seat belt tensioners haven’t fired , double check all the wires are back in place before reconnecting battery
Clear faults and see what comes back plse
Once again really hope I’m not stepping on anyone toes
Ps, if u get really stuck and ever up near me in swanley I’m more than happy to plug my gap iid into ur disco and see if we can pin the fault for u

Dear Stuart
Thank you ever so much for taking the time to respond.
I will check as you advise.
The trouble I have at the moment is the icarsoft scanner keeps failing to even clear the codes and now there are 14 under SRS which I guess is a result of playing with things. Really and truly I need to get then cleared and start a fresh.
To make matters worse the vehicle has now got no MOT due to this light so I cannot take it anywhere to be plugged in.
Best regards
James

Hi James
Ur so welcome and always a team effort
Always the way when I want something to work it decides to throw a tantrum
That’s a shame the mot has run out as would have been more than happy to have plugged my iid in and see if we could have found the error
Personally might be a good idea to get the Autel AP200 or if u can a gap iid, know there expensive at around £450 but they seriously pay for them selves very quickly , considering a garage could charge u maybe £100 just to plug one in
Ur be able to virtually do the same that a garage can do , is really a great bit of kit and the customer service is second to none
Plus the gap iid has the facility to reset srs crash data in the module , alas I’m not sure the Autel has that feature
Here’s a link just in case u haven’t seen it regarding the Autel ap200
That earth wire next to the srs module
Ur seat belt pre tensioners to ensure they haven’t fired
Wires that go to ur Connection block that sits under the drivers seat , by the way u can’t plug them back into the wrong place as there all keyed in such a way they will only go back into their relevant holes
Also can u check ur battery voltage with the engine off plse
Apologises for all the questions but what battery chargers have u got plse
Plse let us know how u get on and hope that helps
Gary

Airbag ECU
Hi
When you changed the ECU for one from a scrappies ... did you have to get it coded to the car or is it a straight swap out please?
thanks
Rob

Hi Guys
An old thread now, my dad ended up getting stuffed for £1000 from local land rover indie for a new SRS ECU but he had no choice as he needed a ticket. He had already uncovered the SRS ECU before it went in and they stated they replaced it but he swore the box was exactly the same when he picked it up, not touched.. regardless it allowed him to pass the MOT. To all the guys who assisted during that time I am greatful and he's still rocking around in it today and loves it!
