The autel ap200 £45 maybe a cheaper way to see if it’s the code reader or not.

Hi Guys

I changed the battery today as the old one has completely had it - unfortunately no change.

The SRS light goes out immediately after the vehicle starts then comes back on, I think I read somewhere that the vehicle does a check each time it starts. I very much like the idea of clearing the light then fiddling with the wires until it comes on. Maybe the SRS module is bad which is why it wont clear, I will speak to my dad about spending out on the dongle.

Many thanks

It's very suspicious the faults are all with the drivers seat though

Is it a fancy SE or HSE model with electric seats ?

as i said previously persistence is the key unplug the connectors a good spray with contact cleaner then try clearing the codes take the connectors out of the holding box under the seat also look to see if the wires that come from under the seat carpet (and into the black box) are not pulled against the seat chassis
 please excuse any grammer/punctuation mistakes,i'm thick,thankyou

Hi Both

It's a billy basic model. I will try taking the connection apart and clearing the codes one connection at a time.

My dad says he is very appreciative of the help.

Best regards

Good evening guys

I've finally managed to have another look at this after recovering from COVID.

I've look over the wiring again but nothing is tight but I did notice the following when looking at the live stream on icarsoft.

- Driver safety belt sensor - safety belt sensor state:FAULT

- Driver safety belt sensor - safety belt sensor fault: UNBUCKLED

The state shows unbuckled no matter which state it's actually in, the passenger side sensor has no fault and in live state shows buckled / unbuckled dependant.

Question is, how do you get the buckle apart?

Thank you in advance

I wouldn’t take it apart.

Check the continuity on its connector with a
Meter first.

It could be yet another fault with the seat connector or wiring

Okay, I will like a right tit now!

I went back out and realized I hadn't screwed the module back all the way, as soon as I did those went to operating normally do it's not that.

In the live streams there is something called

Deployment control X resistance.

X being numbers 1-10, all of them are between 2.35ohm and 2.6ohms apart from one at 2.15ohms.

Apart from the above I cannot see anything untoward in the live streams. When the module was partly unscrewed some of them were at 10ohms which leads me to think everything is connect

As said before the fact the icarsoft fails to clear the code concerns me but I did read on a Merc forum that the scanner would not clear until the issue is rectified. Can anyone confirm?

Thank you

Yep, certainly when I had issues the SRS airbag light didn't go.

I had very similar issues and mine was the ecu.

Hi Jack

When you say the ECU, do you mean the thing under the chubby or the main ECU?

PS, were you confirming no fix and the scanner will fail to clear code? I actually get 'failed to clear code'

Hi Stuart

Do you mean the airbags specifically or all of the data streams under SRS?

Thanks

J

Hi

Apologises I edited my post , did u get 8 x live data ohm readings for ur airbags please

I’m not familiar with ur code reader , on the gap iid menu there is a setting that says “ reset crash data “ , wondered if it may be in ur code reader

Plus there’s an earth connection , ref c2561 under the centre console , didn’t know if you’ve also checked that plse

Hope that makes sense now, lol
