Coolant Leak, Puddle under car and dripping - help please!

Hi all,

I came off the motorway and then drove 2-3 miles home and as i parked up, i saw there was a massive puddle underneath, pink coolant dropping from numerous places. ill attach some pics to help. I then turned off the car and left it, saw the coolant was about half way, came back another 45 mins later and it was almost empty! seems like its also leaking when the car is not on.

Could someone please give me any guidance on where to start please or what the issue could be?

seems like it was leaking as i was driving as its gone all over the bottom of the car.

thank you

A very common place for these to let go is the bottom hose on the radiator. The cover for the fan has a couple of 3/4 round clips to hold the hose, and if one of these breaks it becomes a nice "spear" to put a hole in the hose rather than securing it.

Pop the top fan cover off, grab a torch and take a look as a starter for 10
I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

If its on the driver side, there is a diesel to coolant heat exhanger, with push fit connectors.

You need to get the belly pan off to investigate

A leak as bad as that should be quite easy to spot tbh, as others have said, take the sump plate off, and the panel fwd of that, and see where it is dripping from. Thumbs Up But bear in mind there are areas higher up that can leak, like the water pump, and the plastic housing at the front of the ‘V for instance, that coolant could be cascading down from.

The bottom hose is hard to spot but it's the bottom hose in this image

I've had two fail at the bottom left corner (as seen in this image, so drivers side) where there is a plastic clip under the radiator that can break and pierce the hose.

A fuller view of the cooling system here:

A process of tracing those hoses until you find your leak, unfortunately. But as said by others, if you get the undershield off you can see most of the suspect parts.

If the water tank has emptied then the leak is lower than the bottom of the tank or could be a tank connection.

got under the car today and removed few pipes, emptied the system, and was able to find one pin sized hole which let out lots of coolant. its the blue one in the diagram that goes up near the air filter. I hope this is the one, will replace and see what happens and report back when its done, likely next week.

will speak to LR, atm i can only find a set of the 3 pipes which is part number JHB500822 but im hoping i can purchase just the one i need.

thank you!
