Engine will not crankover

Hi everyone could someone offer advice please
I've just completed refitting my auto gearbox following replacement of a crank sensor and firing trigger ring.

But when I have tried to fire it up it will not crank over. ????
I think I have checked all the usual culprits but still nothing.
I'm just wondering if it could be a gear position problem just thinking it's in gear rather than P or N.

Any help would be much appreciated

well yes.

loosen the gear selector cable onthe side of the gear box, and push the linkage all the way (forward?) to ensure its in Park. (i would have thought you would have got a fault, if it was in a different possiton to the selector inside)

Your diagnostic tool (i presume you have one) should be able to tell you which gear position is active in the live data.
That should at least prove the gearbox isn't inhibiting the start.

so the imboliser can prevent starting.

or maybe some ground lead you forgot to reconnect ? Go over what you touched.

Maybe post a video of you turning the key and watching the dash

did you check that it is not mechanically locked up? if you mess up the torque converter alignment in the Transmission pump it could bend that flexplate to the block and lock it up on that way

You wouldn't get all of the TC bolts in if you couldn't turn the engine over.
On the D4 there is a fuse built in to the battery terminal that can blow and cut power to the starter is there anything like that on the D3?

Thanks for the reply
It's not mechanically locked up it . And The Torque convertor etc went together OK no issues.

It's electrical somewhere stopping the solonoid engaging

Nothing really happening on the dash. Only thing that does happen is the park indicatos is lit when on park and it goes out when I turn the key to start

The one in the plastic case on the + battery terminal.

Ah OK checked that and it's OK. It's just the solonoid not getting the signal to engage as no sound at all and no dimming of lights etc.
