Did you have any of the fuel system apart? If you let these engines run out of fuel they can take ages to start.Andrew

Did you bleed the filter by switching the ignition on for 30 seconds then off and back on again three time in total?
If not you have just got air in the high pressure lines, you need to switch tge ignition on and bleed the air from the shrader valve under the bonnet and keep trying to start the engine.
I did this once and it took forever to start.Andrew

I think you said you had a MSV tool if so its in one of the menu's, you normally need to do it after a software update or re-map.

Your P1811 and other P are the hi Lo transfer box.

The D3 has been laid up since 3rd July.
I only disconnected the plugs under the battery to check for water damage which there wasn't any I cleaned them with contact cleaner and reinstated.
As for the transfer box all are connected OK I've checked half a dozen times.
Really annoying this as the gearbox out and refit job went really smoothly. Especially as I'm 68 and did it by myself on axle stands. Mechanical side of this is simple but these electrics are driving me madMike
