To be honest i was just being lazy,i thought i might get away with the first option but i think your last piece of advise is the way forward and i will run a new cable to the rear as a dedicated use for the items described earlier and in a way i would be sure its use would be off the leisure battery, after all that is the main objective in the first place.
thanks again

Well, I managed to spend an afternoon out on the car today and finished the power sockets and added a bonus it’s taken a week to get the time to get any work done, but happy with the results to date.
So, I got the side trim back in, and wired up to the fuse board, tidying up the wiring (ish)
Sockets look great and all actually work lol,
From left to right
- swapped the standard main battery aux socket for a duel usb with voltage display so I can monitor the battery when in the back
-set of 4 switches, connected to 2nd battery, one in use (tell you later) and 3 for new stuff
- 3 way panel connected to 2nd battery with duel usb, voltage display, and standard cig socket.
Also fitted a metal plate into the side cubby for my work light to attach to out of the way but easy to get hold of.
Happy with them, and while I had the hammer (tools) out I also went ahead and fitted 3 led spots (connected to 2nd battery) into the roof lining to augment the boot light or use when the ignitions off.
I’ve got led bulbs in all the standard fittings but these light up the boot great 2008 HSE Stornoway Grey

Have fitted an 18w Raptor 4x4 to the inside of the upper boot lid, switch from he new switches. I think it give some good lit workspace

Thought I’d add the the old string rather than add a new one with the new electrics on the car
Fitted a flatdog expedition rack a couple of weeks ago so it would have been a shame not to hang stuff off it!
I’ve run a 5 core power cable up the A pillar to provide power and control and terminated in a waterproof junction block. The spare plug you can see is for plugging in a fixed Amber beacon that only goes on during 4x4 duties.

From there, running the cable round the edge I’ve fitted a work light to the drivers side

As well as tied in 4 new Amber strobes to the existing beacon wiring

And to top it off, fitted a double waterproof outlet facing awning side, standard 12v socket and a twin usb with voltmeter to plug my new shiny terraforms awning lights into without having the cable go through the door
