DSC kicking in going round corners

Hey folks,

The saga of my new “cheap” D3 continues. I found that going round corners and coming off roundabouts the DSC keeps kicking in. Not going particularly fast and seems to be mostly when turning left.

The tyres are at the correct pressures and all have tread within 0.5mm of each other. I have replaced a front lower and upper rear suspension arm but just had a 4 wheel alignment done which hasn’t stopped it happening. Apparently it wasn’t very far out so didn’t need much adjusting.

Any suggestions on what to look at next? Any module diagnostics or error codes to look at?

Thanks

You need to calibrate your steering angle sensor

Steering alignment is ok. Just had that done. I don’t think a brake is binding but will check when next out for a run.

Where was the alignment done? Was it done in TTM?

Kwikfit Rolling with laughter Rolling with laughter

You need to get it done properly when the suspension us in tight tolerence mode and then recalibrate the steering angle sensor.

I don’t think Kwikfit do 4 wheel alignment(tracking yes) if they do you can judge by the response how well they do it, do a google search for “Hunter 4 wheel alignment” and check prices as they vary considerably.
TTM (tight tolerance mode) is a setting to use for 4 wheel alignment to keep the suspension still while the alignment is done, it is not essential to use it but it can give better results.
The front arm you replaced? - did you lock it up while it was at road height(correct) or while it was hanging in mid air(wrong).
 It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

My local kwikfit (Northallerton) do full 4 wheel alignment. They were the only ones locally who could do it at the time. I will ask them about TTM. No idea if they used it.

Yes, suspension was tightened with wheel on ground at normal suspension height.

Helpful Rolling Eyes

I have found the option for calibrating the steering sensor in the autel app and gone though it. Will give it a run out in the morning and see if it has helped.

Im Sorry

i have been on aircon courses with Kwikfit staff and they had to lower the pass rate so they could pass.
They also left my wheel nuts loose when they fitted tyres on my company car so i am not impressed at all by them

Sorry have to disagree with you, I never use kwik fit for tyres etc however they do have loads of branches fitted with the Hunter system. Prior to having it done when I was waiting I put my D3 into TTM via the GAP, no idea if they would have done it but pleasantly surprised with their professionalism
and whilst having a coffee you can watch the adjustments via the monitor

Not really surprising for a big chain I guess.

Never had any issues with them myself but then I haven’t used them often Smile

Apart from TTM probably not being used, they seem to have been ok but this is the first vehicle I have owned that needed 4 wheel alignment. I am more used to series 2’s that requires a lot of steering wheel movement to go in a straight line.
