Differential oil change - plugs?

Hi all, I’m looking at changing the diff oil front and back as I suspect it’s never been done in the cars life. I’ve read the great write ups on here and while a few say that the fill and drain plugs “rarely” need replacing, I want to order replacements and change them as a matter of course (at the very least have replacements for when they round off, split or do whatever only D3 bolts seam to be able to do)
I’ve found the fill plugs as they are the same front and rear at LR Parts but can’t find the drain plugs anywhere, the only ones I can find suggest that it’s the same drain plug for everything https://www.lrparts.net/608246-drain-plug-...tions.html

anyone know if this is the correct on, or where I can order?

TYB500110 is the rear diff filler on your post 7A00001 chassis, as well as front and rear drain.TYB500060 is the front filler. I think Laughing

I think I have that right but check it before you buy as I get them confused myself Rolling Eyes

Try site sponsor advancedfactors.co.uk, phone for advice.

I believe earlier plugs had hex recesses which were later changed to square and probably back again as my MY05 D3 filler plugs have 8mm hex recesses as have the plugs recently purchased. I am currently away from my spares and note that magnetic front differential drain plugs are listed at £15.02. I don't recall buying anything that expensive.

PROFSR G is probably correct for your model. I believe TYB500060 was the filler plug for both front and rear on earlier models.

Unless you are totally ham fisted you will not round them off - changing oils is easy to do, the hardest thing is finding the fill hole on the front diff.

i seem to recall that the square end from a ratchet extension fits in the plug so very hard to round off and if you do you prob won't get them out to fit the new plugs there also tapered so should not be very tight
 please excuse any grammer/punctuation mistakes,i'm thick,thankyou

I always hammer/tap the tool fully in when under a landrover, to ensure it goes past the rust and fully engauges

Loosen the fill plugs first before draining the oil, if you drain the oil and cannot undo/remove the fill plug you are in trouble Thumbs Up

It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

That’s a given m3dpo Smile
I’ve made a point of replacing every bolt whenever I’ve done work on him this year, hence the main reason for looking for the plugs to order, they’re cheap so no reason not to.
