To window tint or to not window tint? Been looking at getting the windows tinted on my 08 GS but been quoted some silly prices. Have been offered a genuine set of Privercy glass just can't decide which will look better? The fitting cost of tail gate are rear quarters isn't too bad either and do the rest my self. Decisions decisions!!!

From memory mine cost around £250 from Pentagon. Shouldn't be over £300 now I would think.....Now driving BMW 330d Touring....misses D3...but not when at traffic lights
I paid £365 because they had to soak off some old tints before hand.Mark
Remember its only an obsession....

I paid £300 on collection of my D4.
Talk to your dealer, they will have regular fitters that will do this at a good price.Justin

Do it your self. It's a DIY job like hanging wall paper and £25 to £30 per roll. It also comes off easily if you decide you don't like or want another shade.

No question the genuine privacy will look better... never go purple and no white lining around the edges. Because it's the same shade of black right to the edge of the glass, without any visible heating elements or aerials, the glass looks bigger... more designed.
(won't scratch it either)

I think a well fitted privacy "sticker" looks almost indistinguishable from the factory fitted option...
Here is mine;
Aftermarket fitting of the real glass sounds risky IMHO...

Genuine looks far better as you don't see the heater elements, especially on the rear glass.MY15 DIY Black Pack (Better than factory and half the price!)

Hi guys,
I'm looking to replace tailgate, side, and back passenger windows into tinted ones. I got the replacement genuine windows from my spare Disco3, and I would like to do it by myself. Do you know where can I get instructions or tutorial video? I've never done this and I really wouldn't like to screw something up. Thanks!
