Tilgate gas strut pressure.
Good day,
Tailgate struts on D3 due for replacement.
Please help with correct pressure as I am buying from Australian importer and struts needs to be pressurized.
Many thanks,

By tailgate struts I’m assuming you mean for the top (glass) part of the tailgate? If yes do you have a ladder on the back?I want to see the sweets before I get into your windowless van... I'm not stupid!

Apology should have mentioned.
Indeed the top glass part.

As far as I’m aware they are supplied pre-loaded (but may be wrong), do you need them un-loaded due to international shipping requirements?
If sent sea freight then I’m sure they can be sent as normal, have a look here for options..

Found a local company in Gauteng(Alberton) importing directly from Australia - not pressurized though. They pressurize as per client request.
Much cheaper than dealer or even local Midas.

Just had a look at mine, the pressure is not stated, but there is ' 480N ' which could mean 480 Newtons force.
I've bought adjustable gas struts for industrial use, where they start at full pressure and you let them down, but never bought empty ones.Richard

Much appreciated. I was thinking along the lines of 500N as I compared with the wife's SLK bonnet struts.
I will go for 480N.
Thanks,
