Discovery 3 Radio

Hi guys
My FM radio plays with no volume. It will still search and find the channels but no volume. What makes this odd to me is the AM and CD play with no issues.

Where should I start chaps?

Firstly try a hard reset

Disconnect battery and leave to settle then prior to reconnecting touch both ends together

have you had a look at the back of the radio to see if all the connections are sound?

not sure if there is a separate connection for the FM reception
time for a look at the wiring diagram

Hi
Yes everything is sound, I even unplugged it and blew all connections out with an air line.

Odd;y if I turn the volume up to max and put my ear to the Hk tweeters I can hear the music very very faintly, but definitely there. But the midrange speakers are silent.

All speakers work as normal on am and CD.

I would think it’s the head unit.

What happens when you do an fm rescan ? Does it stop and lock onto stations ? Is RDS name displayed ?
If no to these, could be amp in tailgate

That's the silver amp so its not a logic 7 system so don't think there's an amp in the boot

Well maybe if u unplug the power cable from them (in real time) and the radio reception doesn’t get worse, you could suspect it’s not working.

To get full fm stereo it required 2 if the boxes

AM only requires one box

It doesn’t fully explain your problem though

Or you could buy a cheap, stick on windscreen Ariel, plug into the radio and see if everything is better. By the time you buy a fakra adapter it could be expensive
