OMG!!
That is scary!
Hope the rest of the car isn't as bad as this under the plastic trims
Fingers crossed the crossmember is the only part with a problem
Must stop buying shiny toys....

I’ve checked all the rest of it body’s in great condition, it was just the rear area around the spare wheel area, it’s solid now thank god, I am still going to clean the rest of the chassis up and treat it. It drives fantastic and its low mileage but I was devastated when I discovered the crossmember area,
luckily the lads at HR Autos in Durham are
fantastic and specialise In all things land rover and chassis work great lads Simon and Chris can’t thank them enough.

Just before my mate sold his rusty MK2 Escort in the 80’s I tidied up the bodywork and ‘repaired’ the sills with bread (didn’t have enough newspaper) and filler, looked ok after sanding and painting, but not for long I suspect😳Now Golf GTI PP, 7 speed DSG.

One Mk1 I looked at had grass growing out of the wing, another I was just about to buy when I looked under the dash upwards, luckily the bonnet was open as I saw the sky!
Then of course there was the Mk3 Cortina I bought but when I jacked it up on the sills to change the wheels the jack raised but the car diddn't.Series 1 V8

Hi just thought I would share the work being done to my Disco 3 after I found the rotten crossmember I was devastated but it’s all going well thank god🙏🏻
Hi I’ve just discovered my disco’s rear crossmember is exactly the same! Where did you get the new crossmember from? Is it something you can only get from LR? Sorry I’m new on here.
