EPB Faults

I've done a search but can't find exactly what I need.

The Red P is flashing on the dashboard, the screen tells me parking brake is off, lift switch to activate.

When I do activate it screeches.

The GAP IID tool gives me the following faults:

Parking Brake

C1A41-02 (A8 Clutch pedal sensor circuit - General failure information - general signal failure
C1A00-4B (A8 Control module - System internal failure - over temperature

I've disabled the auto function on it for the time being but does the above just mean the usual strip, clean and new pads while I'm at it or are those fault codes saying something else?

And which pads should I buy?

TIA

C1A41-02 will be the switch in the clutch master cylinder. You can monitor its operation in "live values" to see if its working properly. Try clearing the codes and see what comes back, hopefully its not going to be much worse than that!!

Position sensor will likely be a wiring issue at NSR corner

Over temp fault will be from the screeching

Strip, clean and adjust EPB Thumbs Up

Thanks folks.

I'll strip, clean, adjust and look for wiring problems as advised.

And then it needs a new set of belts, again! Come back to work soon DM!

Cheers

Oh, that's not good.

That is the road to madness!

Hopefully, I can fix the EPB myself and the belts won't break on me. Has it ever happened that belts have snapped?

Its rare for them to snap, I did an 08MY a few weeks ago with 210k miles on the clock and still on the original factory belts and oil pump Shocked

I had the first set changed at about 98K so this one has done 100k.

Hopefully it will last through the lockdown, whenever that might be.

DM,
Daft question but, given that (D3) replacement is 7 years or 105Km, which is worse for a possible breakage time or distance?

DM & Prof,
Many thanks for the response, most informative. Personally I'd be anal and do whichever came first but I'm currently disco-less after SWMBO wrote mine off and looking for another. My old D3 was MY06 and I'm looking to replace like with like so it should be coming up on it's 2nd belt change as I'll be looking at a vehicle with less than 130K miles on it. A lot of adverts state "Cam belts done" so the question to ask is when and at what mileage was it done. Oh, and was the oil pump replaced. Best regards,

David
