Well maybe it is possible without, but eitherway it is one and a half day’s work with or without Body off..
Have a Look there.... no (decent)work space there..

It is hard but only took me bout 7 hours to get it out and back in but just in case what pressure do you have in the system that is quite important i remember with mine i thought it was full but it wasent once i found i did not have enough pressure less than 500kpa when i re-gassed it went above 10000 which is where it was supposed to be that is what i was told by members on here and i used my IDD to test Thumbs Up

Indeed and see where ur coming from through lack of access , suppose like replacing the turbo with the body on, can be done but a right sod to do Big Cry

Have noticed the ac compressor is well buried

Topix state it’s not a body off compressor clutch looks ok. Gas ok no leaks. Pressure sensor giving me a good readings ground feed and signal. No faults with SDD. Run cal test with flap motors ok pollen filter good. Have run the car over winter on eco mode. Reading on the sensory site this can block damage the pump as it runs all the time. My local indi that I use only uses genuine parts so will kill me on price. So looking for someone with a good rep to change the compressor. Thumbs Up

Thks and hope the links may help in one way or another

Great u have diagnostics , Wonder if a restricted condenser could possibly cause an issue , ie like a central heating rad, can get a good flow and return but the actual area of it could be blocked

Hope ur evaporator is ok as I see that would be a right sod to get out

Hope u get it sorted out , sorry that’s not much help

Ps, just thought ,here are my readings and wondered if it may be of use as a comparison

Hi

Sounds like a right amount of fun, not

Managed to find the details via the workshop manual , as u rightly say ref pressure

Extract

Normal pressures for a correctly charged and working system are 1.0 bar to 2.0 bar (low) and 11.0 bar to 15.0 bar (high).

So 1000Kpa is 10 Bar

Ref mine at 221 psi comes out at 15 bar

Must admit got to get mine recharged as I fitted a new condenser that was leaking

Just put it here as a reference as handy u quoting the figures

Are you sure the compressor is actually turning. There is a shear plate on the front. If the compressor seizes the plate breaks so that the fan belt continues to run. And you only need to remove fan and steering pump to get the compressor out

I had to replace both the compressor and condenser on my old rrs it cost a fortune even thou he was a independent, firstly the condenser had a hole so that was changed then still no cold air so then the compressor had to be changed and that was seized due to moisture in the system.
I was told that it’s always best to leave the air con on as the gas has lubricant in it that helps keep the system healthy, also always keep the gases topped up for this reason.
I always now leave the air con switched on it makes the whole heater system work better anyway.

I went out and did the same live values for you.

The compressor current value with engine running started at 174A and dropped as the system got cold. System probably ran for 1 minute to get down to 1 degree evap temp. I’m pretty sure your compressor is seized and not pumping
