Sorry didn't see your original post. You've sussed the pipe size now. I did my rear pipes last year, and used a pressure bleed thing to blow the fluid through. With V8 set up in the front, the brakes are awesome. Richard

could you confirm the fitting size and tool required,
got the rear arms to do in a few weeks and i want to be ready for anything going wrong.
so planning on getting brake pipe, copper or copper/nickle?
and fittings to replace or repair the pipes.
many thanksD3 HSE 2.7 TDV6 named Calvin with him stuffed Tiger Hobbes sat in the back
Pipe 3/16" dia. Either copper or cupro nickel. Copper easier to get tight bends. The hand held flaring tools give a better flare than the vice type and will flare steel pipe.. Fittings are M10 X 1mm pitch, male thread short length. A small hand held mini bender is essential for tight bends. If you are splicing into an existing pipe you will .need 3/16" connectors
The brake pipes on the Disco are double flares. Cut the ends of the pipe square and deburr outside & inside before flaring and lastly don't forget to slide the nuts onto the pipe before flaring---the right way round !!
Probably find the pipes on the rear arms are siezed to the nuts, if that's the case, cut them off flush with the end of the tube nuts and keep them to one side for use as a bending template. I would pat to replace the flexible hoses whilst you are at it.Relocated to Mid France from N. Wales March 2021

Kunifer is much better, copper brake pipe not allowed in some European countries, and the pressure rating is not as high. Kunifer is easy to work, and flare.
Brass M10x1 fittings from Automec or similar, and you'll never have rusty brake pipes again!Richard

Don't forget to put a light smear of the supplied grease on the flaring punch before doing each flare.Relocated to Mid France from N. Wales March 2021
