Rear Parking sensors not working.

Hello all.

Ive lived without parking sensors for a long time. Well, they've never worked on my discovery while Ive been in ownership of it. About 12 months ago I stripped the rear bumper down to check the wiring and it was all OK. I checked the sensors, one didnt work. And i left it at that.

So today ive stripped the rear bumper off again and replaced the faulty sensor. I now have 4 working (clicking) sensors.... however nothing can be heard in the cab. No light comes on on the button on the dash. Pressing the button does nothing. Fuse 36 is fine, as the sensors are obviously working. Have there been any other common issues regards the sensors doing absolutely nowt? I dont really know where to go from here. Any help much appreciated. Ive tried the search function but no clear answer to my fault. 2005 D3 auto.

if no noise is heard, check the sounder/speaker in the rear left. should be 50 ohms.

as for the parking light not working.... hummmm not sure

The button on the dash doesnt light up, or when pressed it does nothing at all. I can hear all 4 sensors clicking away happily. Reverse lights work fine.

Is that 50 ohms through the speaker in the rear?

I’ve pulled the tiny speaker out of the rear quarter this morning and tested it for resistance. Open circuit. I recon this speaker has had it. Pulled it apart and it’s goosed either way. Rang my local landrover dealer 25 quid plus vodka and tonic. Ordered one for tomorrow. See what happens.

I can now confirm this fault is fixed. New speaker fitted into rear quarter has got the sensors working perfectly. Even with an 8 quid eBay special sensor. Happy as a pig in Censored now!

Have had prox sensors and alarm working - now when going into reverse I get the alarm and a flashing light on the 'P' button. Are these sensors available from LR? - I reckon one has packed up...

Sorrry to resurrect on old thread but I just checked the rear buzzer and it’s showing 0.45 on the 2k setting on the tester . Is this correct or knackered please ?

Many thanks. The plot thickens. Computer said the two outer sensors weren’t working. Swopped with new and all four are now pulsing ok and the buzzer still goes off it’s head.
