Totally stripped the engine only broke 1 piston jet pipe and the end float of the bid end nearest the flywheel no spun shells or scorning on any conrod or mains but to my surprise no bent valves at all Iv been a very very lucky man.

So I’m on the look out for a piston jet if anyone has one in an old block

Are u sure the valves seal?

Pour some liquid over them to see if it leaks out

Engine all rebuilt with new mains and little ends, and all gaskets inc heads and bolts.

How have you who have refitted with body on got the angle Using chains when the wiper panel stops you going back when lifting.

Did you make so kind of jig ? Any pics or measurements

Engine reset in the bay awaiting some kind of jig Confused

I left the torque converter in the gearbox do you have to align the flex plate or does it not matter

Does not matter, you can turn the torque converter with a screwdriver to align with the bolt holes.
Just make sure the TC is fully engaged into the gearbox before fitting.
