Gearbox fault code P0400-00 SOLVED
Evening all.
Can anyone shed light on a gearbox fault code that won’t clear after replacing the gearbox ? I’ve recently had the body off to replace the gearbox, I’ve topped the oil up with the engine running but not at temperature yet as I’ve not driven the car, I’ve cycled through the lever positions though.
Is this a calibration issue or something ? I’ve not done a steering angle sensor calibration yet don’t know if that makes a difference.
Thankyou all.
If you all want to avoid the reading. I hadn’t plugged the near side wheel speed sensor in all the way. Jarrod

there are 2 sensors ontop of the megatronics unit.
It would appear the rear sensor is faulty at a guess.
The megatronics unit can be dropped while the gearbox is still in the car.
You may as well drive it, to see if there are other issues

Thought the speed sensor fault code referred to one of the speed (or ABS) sensors on the wheels
Have you checked live values for the wheel speeds?
This was my speed sensor fault

well yes, but as the gearbox is generating the code (not the ABS) .....
I reckon is the grey dome, not far from the main connector.
Maybe you could use your old megatronics unit?

You’ve got me wondering now guys. Did I reconnect my rear wheel speed sensors....
Somethings nagging at me that I haven’t.... where are they connected is it by the flexy from body to chassis ? I’m home now so will have to check in the morning. If that’s the case I will feel rather foolish.
As for the mechatronic unit,
When I managed to crack the pump gear on this box I took it to Bristol trans who did the repair, they swapped the mechatronic ecu’s over and said that it past testing to I’m guessing it should ok. Would that sensor have been swapped over as well ?Jarrod

I’ll go over it all in the morning. In my defence there’s a lot of plugs to rememeber to reconnect. Jarrod

So it turns out after a quick road test that the near side wheel speed sensor wasn’t giving a reading. Turns out I hadn’t made the plug fully home. Little bit embarrassed but it’s all sorted now.
