Rear crossmember
Hi all I hope everyone is well,
My rear crossmember is well rusty can I replace it ,is a bolt on or a weld on .

Possible to replace, but it is welded.

I think that’ll be an MOT fail? It’s holed close to the tow bracket mount.

Surely, if he puts the plastic tow bar cover over it, the tester can't remove it to check for rust??

Ok so had a good look underneath the back of the disco , its all good the last owner underseald it ,
The bit you can see is is where all the mud has sat in the reset on rusted it away, I will make a plate 1/4 " and weld it in

I'd start by taking off the rear bumper, then you'll get a real clear view of how bad things are under all that plastic, but it does look like there is a hole in your first photoIggy/Ieuan

My friend done it HR autos he specializes in land rover work I dropped it off at twelve today and he sent me the pics at 3.45 pm he’s took pictures of the whole job. he seemed to think it was straightforward he’s fitting some extra strengthening on it aswell
