EGR Valves for 59 plate.
Been reading about removing the EGR valves, but is there any difference for a late 59 plate TDV6.1955 SWB Series 1 86 inch

I believe its EU4 emissions, if I'm incorrect someone will correct me. Beyond that fitting and removal is pretty much identical.yµ (idµ - eAµ) ψ=mψ

Don't remove the EGR valves just fit blanking plates and remove the butterfly, leave all the pipework there then no issues with MOT as it looks as thought they are still fitted and working, you will need to have the ecu flashed to turn the EML out on dash .
Did mine 12 months ago no problems at sailed through MOT

Rob, as Mick mentioned, you can blank your egr valves and have the relevant software update to stop the engine management light coming on.
If you have it done with the pipes left in place then there are no problems with the MOT. I’ve done a few now Bodsys Brake Bible

Hi Bodsy
I Also done the same, used a thin blanking plate between the engine block and egr pipes and had no issues with the MOT , done in July

Checked mine today. From the top you can see an oval plate with bolt at each end. No pipes coming out of the top, just flat plate. Must have been done by a PO, is that ok ?1955 SWB Series 1 86 inch

Hi
Personally I put my egr pipes back on as indeed as u say , can see there missing and very noticeable
When I put the pipes back on I got some really thin blanking plates and fitted them between the engine block and egr pipes
Generally I think many are refitting the pipes so it looks as though the egr hasn’t been touched

My MOT man is our local Disco nut, he loves them !
He is an advocate of total removal of EGR valves.
His attitude is deal with future regs if and when they come.
But I will come by some pipes anyway.
Still haven't had an opinion on which is best and why......blanking or removal ?1955 SWB Series 1 86 inch

Hi
The new may 2018 mot regs stipulate if egrs are removed it’s an instant fail , so indeed personally would just blank them
Hope the info was useful to u
As urs is a 2009 it’s already had the software patch done by the previous owner , just need to refit the pipes with the thin blanking plate
