Is it worth getting alternator refurbed
Battery light came on the other day and been on constant. Havent used it since and told the mrs not to use it until i get it sorted. Seen alternators on ebay under £150 but are they worth taking a punt on? And ive read a few post where others have said buy genuine. Or i could get my one refurbed?
Ive checked the fuse ( easy ) but thats fine. Also checked battery terminals. Again fine. Havent got round to checking terminals on alternator but i should think its fubar’d. Its been nearly a whole 6 months since ive had to spend money on it so i guess im lucky in a way lol.

You could try these, not far from you, I know the local LR Dealer sends his alternators there.
They are very old school though, a lot of their work is restoration, rewiring, making up new looms etc.

Got a new one in the end. Well an exchange. Fitted it myself. Thought it was going to be a nightmare but went well and had it wrapped up in just under an hour. Thanks guys.

I overhauled my old alternator, and now keep it as a spare. Richard
