Momentary transmission fault |
|
On the way to work this morning I was driving up a decent size hill about 50mph then nearly at the top disco seemed to loose all drive and transmission fault flashed up on dash then almost immediately the drive returned and message disappeared??
2006 D3 auto 142k I’ve had some very minor TC symptoms slight judder at about 30mph on acceleration but by all means not all the time sometimes if I look hard I think I can see the speedo flicker at 50mph
I did a gearbox oil change and converterd it to metal pan from from advanced factors and added a tube of dr tranny about 5k ago to give me time to save up for a TC
Do you think I’ve waited to long and gearbox is goosed ?? What else could cause momentary loss of drive and transmission fault shown on dash ??
I do have a iid BT but haven’t had chance to plug it in as was on way to work and I’m away tonight D4 rear lights

It's worth checking the fluid level (with engine running) as the metal pans do tend to leak.
People also blame to selector pivot on the side of the gearbox, assuming the gearbox thinks N has been selected.
Lets not hope its more expensive
