Yep, just £50 excess for the alternator. Not sure on the final bill yet. Have to pay garage direct and claim back via cheque, but its been approved so just an admin exercise.
They have also found a shot wheel bearing, so waiting for that warranty claim now

It's what the warranty is for. Oddly enough, 15 month into a 36 month policy and ZERO gone wrong with the D4. Positively reliable.
Now I've done it.

Cheers NJSS. Same to you
Mine has been the same DSL. Nothing bar servicing for months really. Probably around 15 months I reckon as well, then this month, new air compressor, alternator and wheel bearing!!

I hope two things. First that she doesn't need anything, ever. Second, if she does it's not in the ar$e end of nowhere in NE Finland or Norway. Been there's done that and deffo don't want another t-shirt.

Well 1967Jester (Paul) told me they had it on a yellow taxi once, so that’s probably twice in 85k miles. Not too bad I suppose considering the complexity of the car!
I just hope it returns to being a reliable partner again. I used to jump in it without a fear of any problem and would happily drive anywhere in it! The last month has knocked my confidence a bit I must say!
