Depending on the exact type, AF prices range £176 to £211. Denso type, LR will without doubt be dearer
That seems like robbery, probably think they’ve got you over a barrel, prices above from Advanced Factors forum sponsors.

Just had the same problem, got a Denso alternator from Euro Parts for £199 inc VAT
Flack the Disco Magician fitted it at the same time as resetting the EPC
Just the odd suspension fault warning to clear now ....

Well I've had the first chap come and have a look. As expected, it looks like alternator.
So im awaiting a lorry to take me home. Will be dropping the car at the local LR garage and leaving it for them to sort out.
I will then have to get home. Think im looking at 8hrs to get home.

Cheers Dave. Yep, back in Grimsby again. Got 3 days work done, which was just enough to get what was needed. Thankfully my recovery were excellent, so cant complain too much I suppose. Cant imagine your getting much done at the moment if you're still out!

Just to finish this off, a new alternator has been fitted and all is well again. Looks like it didn't damage anything else when it failed which is good.
