Spare Wheel won't fully tighten
65 plate D4, lowered the spare a few weeks ago to put the 'Uncle Ray' protector on, and raised it back up (Always under strain) , wheel was nice and tight.
Over the last few weeks it must have loosened, but I'm unable to tighten it anymore as the winch won't tighten further, have lowered it fully, then re-raised it and still not fully tight, It can just about me moved around using your hands
Any thoughts?
Cheers

One (or more) of the bits the tyre pulls up against have fallen off. Small block of wood and some glue perhaps?A vaccine does not stop you catching a virus, or passing it on, or getting ill from it, really ill. Well, the official LR fix kit for the sinking manual driver's seat is a bit of wood to stick under the handle so that fat bums don't push it down.A vaccine does not stop you catching a virus, or passing it on, or getting ill from it, really ill. Might have a suitable bit of wood for Iggy. He'll have to choose & chop it himself though.

You can have it, just give it back when it's all nicely chopped up.

Had a similar problem with mine, also a 65 plate when I initially fitted 'Uncle Ray' protector. Found that by lowering and adjusting the position of the wheel and raising it fitted perfectly. Didn't work first time but did after a second juggle. Maybe worth another fiddle!

I fitted an 'Uncle Ray' protector a few weeks ago to my - new to me - D4 MY16 Landmark. The manual talks about a distinctive noise and 'feel' to the winch when it is completely tightened, can't say i noticed any such indication, and I am worried about putting any more tension on the cable as it seems pretty tight to me. The wheel seems firmly in place and can't be moved. Does anyone have any experience of a distinctive end-point indication - other than the cable snapping
