I would avoid electric polishers.
You just don't need them once you have clayed it.

That's not strictly correct.
The clay bar is part of the paint cleaning process only, it's not part of the polishing process which will give you the shine you desire. Once all the dirt and contaminants have been removed, you should really correct/polish, then seal for best results. You may be happy to hand polish but a DA will make life a lot easier and give a much better and faster result.
If you're happy with the results after claying only, you're definitely missing out on a much better finish by not completing the polish/correcting stage. Wink

I have hand polished it and yes I have seen an improvement.

I guess I worry about mechanical polishers doing damage

Thought that might be the case Pete but with the new type DA, dual action rotation, they tend to prevent mishaps. Thumbs Up
Gotta be honest though, I think you still need loads of patience even with a DA. Embarassed

been looking at the meguires DA polishers which don't look half bad , see they also sell a complete kit with all the pads etc

imagine i would have to allow at least a good few weekends to clean it properly Whistle

can then at least protect it for the winter season

what do i guys think of the autogylym products plse

Always been quite happy with most Autoglym stuff. Did buy a Lifeshine kit a few years ago. Still got most of it.

Well, after claying has made the surface glass smooth its not hard work.
You can really feel and hear the difference when running your hands over the surface after claying.

That and the fact I have only polished the bonnet Laughing

autoglym car wash shampoo and leather products are ok.
Much prefer meguires now for other stuff

The first time I washed mine after getting it I pulled all my right shoulder muscles gripping the roof rail to wash the roof. Won't be making that mistake again 😂

Access height and step ladder. Doesn't help that my road is quite steeped from side to side and a one way street.

Clay mitt does a good job for me, just keep the surface lubed as you wipe.

A clay mitt is faster, never worry about lube, I clay the car with left over water and car shampoo does exactly the same job as over priced clay lube.

thks , still browsing at the kits

with me clumsy i think the mitt would be a safer bet for me, as i would just end up dropping the clay bar all the time Whistle

meant to ask, how's the disco going
