In math order of operations is left to right but certain operations take precedence to others. In this case, multiplication should happen before addition. Hence:
5 + 1 x 10 = 15
If you wanted to end up with 60 the addition operation should be enclosed in brackets to signify precedence:
( 5 + 1 ) x 10 = 60
In this case it isn’t.
