Just search “wood piles” in google maps as a search on the return route. Will either be very successful or very painful!

reports in the press that now state ".........X (formerly known as Twitter)". Yes, we all know it's changed it's name, and if we don't what does it add to the report/story...
Just like road signs that state "new road layout ahead" that are there for years, some round where I live have been up for at least the 15 years I've lived here.....

British Airways what a total bunch of
Just been delayed by 21.5 hours on a 4 hour trip... and it was NOTHING to do with Air traffic control, completely down to them not maintaining their aircraft, over booking on to flights that had ALREADY had 5 seats removed as they were broken (resulting in being 1.5 hours late arriving into Heathrow) while they faffed around trying to persuade people to get on a later flight "that may or may not depart"... and they were surprised at the lack of volunteers
Missed my connection to Aberdeen, so waited while they decided where to put me and the dozen or so others who'd also missed connections, refused to let me have my bag so no clean clothes (that was after being directed down to baggage reclaim to get it), shipped out to a crappy hotel where "it was too late for food".
Up at 5am to make the 07:55 flight to Aberdeen (missing breakfast) only to get to the terminal to find it had been cancelled (under carriage issue - poor maintenance again) , they then said the 12:30 flight was over-booked so wouldn't even let me go standby and re-booked on the 16:45. Again asked for my bag and was directed to the exact opposite end and level of T5 where upon arriving was told "because your bag is booked on a flight (in 9 hours time) we can't let you have it so if you want to make other arrangements (hire car for example) you'll have to file a "lost bag" claim (fraud!) and wait for it to arrive sometime in the week".... FFS.. I'm flying out again tomorrow so no option other than to wait in Departures at T5 for 9 hours, no lounge access (unless you paid at a rate of £40 for two hours!!! ) and only a £10 voucher for food... NEVER AGAIN !I want to see the sweets before I get into your windowless van... I'm not stupid!

I have the dubious ‘honour’ of having BA Gold status. Recently I’ve had some really poor service and support from BA on my last few flights such that I have informed them many times through satisfaction surveys etc, that because of the poor service, support and standard of their aircraft, I have moved my custom elsewhere.
Last year I was in the US 18 times, Japan twice, Turkey and Europe 25 times. That’s serious money, but all now lost to BA and my colleagues are doing the same.
It’s really frustrating because T5 is so easy to get in and out of. Anyway, KLM / Air France are doing well. Oddly, so is United. I’ve now decided that loyalty counts for nothing, other than Amex, so I book the flights I want with whoever gives me the best deal and service.
BA used to something to be proud of. No longer, so I’m using my air miles up for family trips and moving on. Very sad.D4 HSE EU6 (Known as Jeeves)

Further to my previous Evri issue, I received a refund from Millets/Blacks. I sourced the boots elsewhere and, you guessed it, they also use Evri. I wonder if a second EVri person will be walking around in boots they didn't pay for this week too...Visiting from rrsport.co.uk

I received new hearing aids last week. A replacement for the old one I had and a new one for the other ear.
I'm amazed that people can live in such a noisy world. There's noise everywhere, even in our rural village - how do people live with it?
I took the dog out this morning and left my hearing aids at home so I could enjoy some peace and quiet.Visiting from rrsport.co.uk

Re BA, haven’t flown with them for years and years and they were peewee poor then. Saying that, flying back from FRA to LHR on them towards the end of Nov, unfortunately SqueezyJet doesn’t do that route. All will be fine. Hopefully.
Can you not control your hearing aids with an app on your 'phone?
A friend has an app on his 'phone which enables him o control his hearing aids.
He can do simple things like adjusting volume and sound, and select hearing programs. The hearing programs can be personalised in different listening environments via GPS.
The App for uses the GPS location function of the smartphone and allows you to save sound settings depending on your location. The next time you are in the same location, the App will automatically activate the appropriate personalised hearing program.
So for instance you can have saved settings for home, at the local pub, at the clay shooting range etc...

satisfaction surveys
- are a waste of time - comments get anlyalised (speeling ?>) & "averaged", thern of course no-one gets back to you. They are usually carried out by a third party company who simply provide the first party with a spreadsheet, specific &/or individual complaints don't get through.
Direct email** is the only way, once of course you have found one which can be a mission in itself.
**Could always try snailmail to the company's registered office.

Worth exploring I think.

I can turn the volume up/down directly on the aids (and I only have to do it on one as they "talk" to each other). I do have an app and I can select programmes - general, speech in noisy environments, music/TV, hearing loop. I can vary the volume too, and alter it separately between aids. These programmes can also be selected via the volume control on the hearing aid itself. And I think the aids will switch programme in certain situations too. All very clever.
It's just the amount of general noise around that I find intrusive. Having had poor hearing for years thanks to surgery for issues, and a hearing aid only in the worst of the two ears up to now, it's been a shock to hear how much sound I've been missing for the last few years.
The new aids are very good - better than the old one, certainly. I just need to get used to it all I think. I might ask the audiologist to fine tune things a bit further after a few weeks if it's still an issue.Visiting from rrsport.co.uk
