Side bars
After having my side steps on for a couple of years now and never truly being happy with them I'm thinking of getting rid. I was on a relaxed and scenic tour with all terrain tours and my side steps were cutting into the country side on any deep ruts. Some of the ruts were quite deep and I had to straddle them, rather than go in the rut so as not to bend the sidesteps. I only fitted them to stop the car door bangs in car parks, but if something is impractical, it has to go.
The question is, do I go for some side bars/tree sliders or just get 2 new side trims and go back to standard? I don't think I'll ever do anything other than green laning, so maybe the sliders are overkill? Do the side bars offer any protection, or are they just for show?
I suppose a lot will depend on how much laning you want to do & if you want to be bothered returning sidesteps on a regular basis.
Prospeed do a slider with inserts to make into sidesteps, not the cheapest option but very effective, giving protection & practicality in one.Paul.

I have these Bearmach ones fitted,
I'd say more for show, but great as steps, it'd be the brackets I'd be more worried about getting torn off.
