Polish/wax for bonatti grey detailing kit

Hi I have a bonnati grey discovery and I'm after a wax to try and bring out the metallic and feel like iv achieved something after polishing it. I'd ideally like a kit with all the products in. I know there's the autoglym one but I'm not convinced in it. Just wondered if anyone had any advice on warm Polish that's good. Any pics would be appreciated tyia

A wax will only protect the car. Ideally, you would only polish it once and then keep it clean and topped up with wax.
But, the Autoglym high definition wax is really good. It lasts a while and is easy to apply and remove.

I use Poorboys blackhole, it's specifically for dark colours and brings out the metallic in the paint. The downside is it isn't a wax it just adds shine and covers swirls and light scratches, you need to go over it again with a good quality wax to protect the paint.

I have just done mine today (Corris Grey), but it's now back in the garage or I would have taken some pics.

Try dodo juice purple haze or blue velvet wax
Some of the best ive used for darker metallics. Super high carnuaba and easy application
Beads beautifully and two coats 48hrs apart will give a sumptuous wet gloss shine

To get the best of any paint finish, clay bar, then mop, then wax

Polish is the prep and wax it the protection, both do a different job. I only polish once a year and top up the wax as and when throughout.
The porbouys black hole is very good on dark cars but as stated only a polish. The Autoglym HD wax I agree is also very good so long as you can get it for about £30. It is too expensive at Halfords etc at about £45. If you want a long lasting easy wax I would try FK1000p. Amazing longevity and easy application. Or try the Soft99 Fusso Dark, both are less than £25.

I tend to only use Autosmart products these days but you have to buy in bulk which probably won't suit you.

Dark cars always reflect better than light, take your time and the results will show.

Thanks for the advice I'm thinking either the poor boys or dodo juice and then a good quality wax after 2 polishes? Does that sound right? Does it matter what wax is used with what?

Poorboys is a polish and filler
Dodo juice is wax
You would use them in that order for a great finish or independently if paint finish is already good
Its wax that will give you an ultimate mirror finish if you have done the preparation stages ie clay bar, mop, polish, wax
Only use wax on its own if paint is already perfect

I see. What are the differences in the dodo juice wax? I see there's black and purple. Is there a grey? Excuse me for being stupid but it's all a bit new to me

The colour of the wax aids filling of micro scratches
Metallic greys suit blue and puples and green waxes
Its all about a deep wet gloss shine that enhances the paint colour not mask it
Ive used the bluevelvet on a seal grey porsche and a bonatti 90 and it really does go on well

Ps dodo juice do small panel pots of each variant so you can try to see which is best before you commit £25 plus on a larger pot Thumbs Up

Look this site...

http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk
....they seem to have all the makes & products
conveniently they are close to me so I collect...

you can polish the swirls out using Meguairs swirl remover - never ever T-Cut
they polish & seal the finish....its the sealant or final wax that preserves the finish & the work you have done
I have used Meguairs products for over 18years on a series of vehicles
the three step system was what I originally used...step three is their Carnuba wax

...I now use their Ultimate products on two of my cars - which is easy(er) to use & two steps + it costs a bit more

I asked the Clean your Car guys as to what sealant stays on the longest - they told me SONAX
this specific one:
http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/sealants/son..._1380.html

I am testing this stuff on my company car - washed every week & as I work in a quarrying environment my car gets really dirty & sprayed with really dirt water every day.
I used some 6 months ago & so far seems to be still there

...as yet I haven't tried DODO juice but when I next need to buy some sealant I will

you can pay (waste) huge sums of cash on car care stuff - so its best to use what works & stays on

CleanYour Car also sell:
IRON-X the safest & to the best alloy wheel cleaner - has to be used to be believed - not acid or alkali.

GTechnik C4 - the black trim restorer
http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/engine-and-e...d_851.html
 BREXIT - done properly.
Right now ...We need Government - not Politics
Save the Dipstick Flagbearer-keep it simple, less likely to fail campaign-agenda items:Starting Handles, Acetylene Lamps.
Founder: Dipsticks-R-Us Inc
D3 HSE-perfectly formed, passenger friendly...has real DIPSTICK
Jag XK-but sadly no DIPSTICK...HUGE design fault
FL2 has DIPSTICK..."real comfort in rear seats"
VW Golf wondermobile (?)..has real DIPSTICK
Morris Minor..original DIPSTICK technology..and a real KEY.
