Hmmm .... maybe its because I'm used to dealing with Toyota who set out their 'fixed price servicing' .... but even before that never 'negotiated' a price. And with a '5 yr service' plan with LR probably won't have to mess around with that ..... though I hope not to keep the car that long.... but who knows... 2016MY Discovery HSE - Black

I went to an approved albeit non franchised garage for a service at Xmas. I agreed a price and that no additional work would be carried out without my agreement. When i went to pay they charged and extra £150 for various small parts plus associated labour for fitting. I could have bought the parts for £25 and done it myself and it's not a huge amount but in increased the cost of the service by 30%. Annoying

Very annoying, in effect going back on their word really.
They are taking liberties. Nobody minds if they find a blown light and change the bulb or something like that. But over time, the odd bulb has morphed into a set of wipers, or a horn that has stopped working, with things gradually increasing in cost.
The best thing is when they do that and then hit you with the bill and you tell them "I've got an extended LR warranty, let them take care of it".

I have experienced the exact same as you - charged for a sump plug when it was obvious the lower plate had not been removed, especially as the remains of an earlier oil leak was evident all over the side of the sump and the bung. Further, my dealer charged me for a sump plug washer, which I discussed with their parts manager and was told it was from a freelander... I was also charged for screenwash despite me having deliberately filled it full the night before the service. I rang the dealer for a service price this year and asked what it included and as soon as she read out sump bung and washer I stopped her and advised by business would be going elsewhere.
