A dealership called today and was offering a 10% discount on a landmark before one even started haggling, so thought might explore the possibilities especially as the 90 needs to find a new home

I don't notice much difference in fuel economy over my 12MY. The EU6 engine has AdBlue for emissions and stop/start system which was fitted to 14MY EU5 cars onwards and the road tax is £265, other than that pretty much the same.
Sump guard I think is slightly different on 14MY onwards but I'm not 100% sure.23.5MY Defender 90 X-Dynamic SE D250 MHEV Pangea Green

Sump guard is indeed different for MY14. I know the MY14 version also fits the MY15, but can't confirm if it fits the MY16. Although I can't see why not, unless anything to do with the AdBlue system gets in the
way.2006 D3 HSE (Original & still the best)-GONE

Many thanks for the replies.
So not much difference in fuel consumption then.
Hmm sounds like a call to RLD for a new sump guard.

at the moment (only done 5k miles) I think the consumption on my MY16 is worse than my MY12 I had before, by about 3 or 4 mpg

I would also say that so far MY16 fuel consumption is worse than MY13. However, this may not be quite a fair comparison, the new one has only done 4k, all in cold winter weather, with the temperature sensor issue meaning that for example the seat heaters are almost constantly on.
In practice, so far, I'd say 2mpg worse.Long succession of Disco's since 2001...
