I have looked at all these SIM cards including GifGaf, Tesco, 3, Libara( I think that's how it's spelt) and they are all topped up automatically every month on the credit card they are registered to, I still have some of the unregistered cards that I did not register, although I am still using an Orange card In a GSM gate opener I registered about 2 years ago and have not topped up since, it just sends me a message once a month to keep it active.
If it is possible for a newly registered sim to run for more than a month without needing topping up I would be very interested in knowing how it can be done It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

From Tesco mobile 'chat';
Quote:
You can top up anytime whenever you want there is no end date for account credit, just to keep your PAYG number you need to make 1 chargeable call or text once in a 6 month.

I'll be using a giffgaff sim on my Webasto GSM, when I get a spare minute to wire it in that is.

On checking the T&C's unless I'm missing something it seams that only "3" does a traditional PAYG card.
The reason I got these cards was to take abroad as my mate on a 15 year old phone on GiffGaff could get a signal everywhere in Europe whereas I could hardly use my super duper IPhone on EE
Extract from EE SIM card: a monthly charge will be made.
Extract from GiffGaff:
Labara:
If 84 days pass without a Chargeable call being made the card will be cancelled.
Three, the only reference I can find to a cancelled SIM:
Your card will remain active and rates unchanged until the last penny has been used.
The GSM gate opener I use has a facility to send a call out or reply to a text question if I need to know the present state it is in, I can set this to send me a text message once a month to keep the card active, when I send a message to the GSM to open/switch on it only rings the unit and does not answer the call, so no charge. It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

Honesty you really can use giffgaff. The extract you are looking at is for goodybags but we are talking about airtime credit, which does not expire unless you do not make a chargeable event in a 6 month period.

I too have been using a giffgaff SIM for the past 5ish years with no balance expiry issues on my FBH They do send you reminders via email if it gets close to the zero activity thing, which obviously only happens in the sunmmer I think I have only ever put about 20quid's worth of standard calling credit on it over the time I hav had it
It could of course be different for 'new customers' ?and theeeeennn......???

O2 works too, again, they will dis-connect the sim after a period of inactivity but it is fairly straightforward to get them to re-connect (and reinstate credit). The first time I got them to re-connect they even credited me £20 as an apology for dis-connecting me!! Wasn't quite so lucky next time!Dave Neil

the 3 timers with GSM module is sold, and shipped...
but i still have the 2 Webasto 1533 timers left, they come with connectors and the wiring soldered into print.. so all u need is a wireless remote or gsm module for it to work
price is still 40£ plus 20£ for shipping to UK with trace..
can also be send without trace on buyers responsibility for 5£..
