I finally managed to unfit them from my car (due to lack of time and energy) and am sending them back to Ultraleds Ltd.
So far, still no answer to my last mail.
I'm curious if I ever will hear from them again.
I'm not that pleased with their service ATM anymore ...
In case of any progress, (good or bad - hope good though) I'll let you know
to all new readers: beware, this is an experience of one sole customer it seems, so not representative (now, who's being the nice guy ? ) 8)D4

Thought I'd post here as well:
no answer from ultraleds.co.uk ...
I'm sure my broke LED's should have arrived by now ...
Oh well, guess I'm ranked as one of those "annoying" customers, just because I tried to get things back to normal through warranty ...
And after all, I paid for something which didn't last for even 6 months ...
Anyone a hint on what to do next ?

I ordered rear brake/side towers and mini towers for the front sides on 5th October and hadn't heard anything so 10 days later I sent a very polite email to them enquiring if in their experience the postal strike was causing the delay and promptly got this back
"Jeff my entire day is wasted answering the same question"
I did point out that perhaps an email to all their waiting customers may save their time!
However bulbs arrived on the 17th and in they went, generally very happy, the towers certainly make good use of the reflectors and the side lights look good bright white rather than yellow, one of the mini towers only has 2 of the 5 leds working though so I've asked if they will send a new one before I return the old as its a hassle having to remove the headlight unit twice, we'll see D3 TDV6SE

I emailed them about returning my failed 501 sidelights and was told I have to provide the invoice number. Errr, but you issued the invoice number, so with postcode and item surely you can find it? No, you have to provide the invoice number.
Now I don't know about you, but receipts for items costing £10 or so tend to end up in the shredder after a month. Ditto keeping relatively unimportant emails. So forget the £100 or so I've spent on various LEDs in the last year and foget the 1 year warranty unless you keep receipts for every can of beans you ever bought I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

How did this all end up? Did you guys ever get satisfaction from Ultraleds?
The reason I ask is that the U5015HPW's I installed in my marker lights in July last year have started to fail element by element, and one of the numberplate lights has died completely.
I have just fired off an email, and hope I get a response

Hi Baben,
true to form my sidelights have both now failed, spoke to Ultraleds and asked if I could swop for these

was basically told yes but those don't come into stock until about the 21st of Jan.D3 TDV6SE

The potential down side with those Rob is that they only send light forward, not sideways into the reflector. (120 degree beam will barely touch the reflector)
With a normal incandescent lamp the light is sent forwards, sideways and backwards. The closest to this behaviour is the u5019w, giving a better spread of light. I haven't tried the U501WHP3W so it's brightness may well counteract the lack of reflector use, but my guess is it will still appear as a single bright point of light rather than the full sidelight reflector lighting up. Worth a punt though as it looks bright !I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.
