Given the amount of glazing in the discovery I think it's essential. In summer it would just be a nightmare.
Most of my last few cars have had it and on those without it has awful in the summer sun.
The exception to the rule is coupe's, all windows should match

You want to try it here in the Queensland summer sun. Wasn't a very warm day yesterday, only about 32degC or so, and I was using SDD to clear a fault. The interior temperature was recorded as 55degC, half in the shade, half out (must clear some of the crap out of the garage ) , all 4 windows and the driver's door open. That is with tinted glass, which is not quite as dark as the privacy glass you guys have (which would be illegal here).

I reckon the disco looks like a big greenhouse without it. Too much glass.

I wouldn't have a Disco without it but it has to be factory fitted.
Having said that my other half says it looks like a van.....cheeky mare.Displaced Yorkshireman.
=^:^=
SDV6 Auto obviously, Loire blue/Ebony, ugly kid glass, RLD wheel protector, private plate and maybe side steps.

Essential in my view - a greenhouse on wheels without it
