This could start to be expensive.......
Have done circa 1800 miles in the three weeks and a couple of days or so since 'topping up' with three litres of Adblue. Now given I did 12,000+ miles before I got a warning saying I needed it I am confused
Checked the handbook and it says approx 1 litre of additive/1,000km so my three litres has lasted spot on the mark at 2903km. Doubly confused how I went 12,000 miles then before first top up.
At the £20/4 litres I paid (can be bought cheaper) that equates to 50 litres of Adblue per annum if my mileage is consistent (it is around 32k miles PA) = £125 a year and company says that isn't covered (but oil for engine top-ups would be )

IIRC at some stage JLR said that, possibly during warrantee period only, JRL dealers would top up/re fill at no cost to owners.

As it's just a urea solution, I wonder if there's a way to fill it up for free...................... Morris Dancers: Drinkers with A Dance Problem

But there's is very special urea and distilled water solution and easily worth the price of a decent malt whisky! Pig pee and distilled water.

Handbook says it uses around 1 litre/1000km.
My car flagged first 'grey' warning at about 12k miles and I topped it up with 3 litres at about 12.5k.
My 1800 miles since and warning back on backs that up as almost exactly 1L/1000km rate from that point.
Was confused how I went 12k without any need to fill up so asked at work and, apparently, when new they have 15 litres in tank which must mean that from first top up it can't be holding the tank full (it wouldn't take more than about three litres)
Guess it in theory gets you to first service (15k) and then dealer replenishes with their 'special equipment' to theoretically tide you over to roughly next service, who know's

Have just refilled the tank and can only assume when I put three litres in a few weeks back there was an air-lock or something as it wouldn't take more than three litres out the four litre bottle (it has a 'Hozelok' type valve on the bottle neck).
Just took ten litres straight in - this was an open ended flexible hose filler (like on a plastic fuel can).
Better price too at £10.02 for ten litres from local motor factor place in town
So that's job done till it goes back in a few months time
