4wd explained
As you can see from the picture i have the manual no frills D3, no air suspension. As in picture it has the H/L four wheel drive button and hill descent. As i changed from a Isuzu D-Max which had H/L and could switch to 2WD due to split differential, it also had a diff lock. If i put it in 4WD on tarmac it was hard to turn as there was no give in the surface. The D3 is how ever difference. I know the D3 is a great off roader but would the isuzu have the best 4WD system.
What is the D3, is It permanent 4WD or what they say All Wheel Drive. Has it a limited slip differential.
Not really into the technical side , just a simple explanation.

Permanent 4 wheel drive with an electronic differential which only locks when the vehicle senses it needs to and unlocks as soon as the need is no longer there.

Americans have a lot to answer for - over paid, over sexed and over here - with their Jeeps. I was surprised that when in the UK all 4wds were referred to as Jeeps - even the locally made Landrovers.

Every vacuum cleaner is also a Hoover over here! A Land Rover can be a Jeep and a Dyson can be a Hoover!

Don't think Jeep is used as a generic term for 4x4s in anywhere near like the same way Hoover is for vacuums.
In fact I can't think of the last time mine was called a Jeep usually its "bloody gas guzzling 4x4" ==================================
