The car needs to be enabled once you fit the receiver / antenna

As Wiggs said, needs the setting changed to get it to recognise the remote module.

Conclusion

Well I think I can close this thread down now as I have a working fuel burning heater or cabin ventilation (dependent on external temperature) operating via a remote fob!

To round it up. The link from Hugh Martin (http://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/topic123137-15.html) is superb and anyone with the smallest amount of common sense can fit the receiver and ariel, they simply clip in. The ariel operates quite happily tucked away behind the trim so no need to get clever and thread it through to get it on the glass.

In the end i bought the receiver and airel from landroverpartsgroup.com for £198.44 including shipping and the remote from ebay for £33.50 including shipping, it was a brand new item from a guy called
sonii_786sonii_786

You then, as people say have to get the CCF amended. A local guy tried to do this but couldn't do it. I spoke to Portsmouth Land Rover (Synter) and initially they didn't seem that keen, saying i had the wrong parts fitted but i took the receiver and ariel box down, showed the service manager and he said, yup that's fine and they charged me £45.00 to do it.

Total price for job £276.94
The price from Land Rover for and to fit their 'remote kit' was i think £590.00
Thumbs Up

p.s why do Land Rover set the switch over temperature for whether the heater operates or the ventilation operates as low as 6 degrees C? At next service I will see if they can adjust the CCF to put this temp up to around 14C as your just not going to want the ventilation on below something like this.

You cannot adjust the temperature

And it's 16 degrees not 6 degrees before it vents

You can only adjust the change-over temp on the Webasto Thermocall kit, otherwise the fixed values are used as Wiggs has stated above.

From your description I doubt you have the Thermocall, unless you really are turning it on by telephone.
