Timed climate, now showing its age?

When I got my D4, it was so cool to be able to set the timer to defrost the car in the morning. Now, my wife is using the D4 tomorrow, and is on the road at 0645, so with the hard frost forecast she asked me to go and set it for her. This involved me going outside and switching the infotainment on, to set the timer.

All good and well, and she will be defrosted tomorrow. The issue is, my brother has an M4, and his wife a Nissan Leaf, they can both set their timed climate systems from there smart phones from the comfort of the armchair!

D5 better have that feature...

Should have ticked the remote option on the order form.

Easy enough to add the remote, or the GSM with the nifty iPhone / Droid app, or even both.

Ok, got the remote, but always forget to press the button (I'm not the brightest thing in the morning)

Will have to look at a GSM upgrade. I still think the web based systems are rather good.

The GSM is good as you can trigger it directly from your phone, or program times. You can also vary the running time and monitor the increasing internal temperature from the comfort of your bed.

According to the news, you don't even need to own the Nissan to be able to play with those sorts of settings. The power of the internet Laughing
