Hi,
Ever since I have owned my Disco, the display on the radio has never worked. The radio works fine and I can scan through the frequencies but its now starting to bug me so I want to get it fixed. The display actually lights up but no text appears. If I press the display you can see the text appear briefly and then fade away. Its like the LCD is knackered.
Anyway, reading on the forums here, I have decided that I would like to get it either repaired or replaced like-for-like as it seems like too much of a ball ache to go aftermarket because this MOST stuff and the fact that the unit is a central hub on the car.
So does anyone know where I could get the display repaired or find a replacement display as I believe its a 5 minute solder job once you have the unit out?
or...
does anyone know how I can find the part number of the head unit (ideally without taking it out) as I have managed to source another fully working head unit but I am led to believe that there are several different part numbers for these head units and I need to match with what I have already. Please correct me if I am wrong about this though.

when i bought one i just searched the internet for the 465 6 cd version. they are like hens teeth
easy to swap over and a ten mins job James favourite hobby is writing in the third person.

Hi I had a cracked display & managed to get a replacement from http://www.caraudiorepairs.co.uk
Who had a spare unit he was prepared to break. I went for the display only which wasn't too bad but needed a soldering iron. All fitted & working fine now. So much better having a clock with the correct time
