Ireland 2006 Discovery 3 TDV6 HSE Auto Bonatti GreyDiscovery 3

Just managed to pick myself up a set of 20" Genuine V Spokes from a RRSport Thumbs Up

Now i know the tyres fitted to them are no good for the Disco 3 so from reading this thread it seems I have two choices....

275/45/20 or 295/45/20

My local tyre dealer is having trouble getting the 275 in a high enough load rating.. 110v is the highest he can find, will these be fine or can anyone give us a direction to look.

Finally what would the Disco3 guys recommend.. 275 or 295 Thumbs Up

I ran 295/45 Grabber UHP's on mine, but they did pull about quite a bit of uneven and bad camber road surfaces. In the end, I've settled on 265/50x20s, rated at 111W.

Ohh another option.. this is getting confusing now, perhaps I should avoid the 295/45 as the roads in Ireland are $hite Laughing

Thanks for your input Al Thumbs Up

Oh - what age is yours, as if its an 8.5 model or later, I dont think you will get 295's on anyway, due the rearstop at the back of the front wheel bay.

cheapest 265/50x20 from here (nothing to do with me) is £109 each, almost all rated at 111 (not saying you want the cheapest, but give some idea of prices)

United Kingdom 2010 Discovery 4 3.0 TDV6 HSE Auto Nara BronzeDiscovery 4

Hi there

Some have stated that D4 alloys are a straight swap on D3.

With this in mind and a tyre change looming, I managed to get a set of 4 of these 19 inch wheels with 255/55/19 Scorpions with about 8K on them:

Price was quite reasonable so I thought I'd have a go.

Should be puttin them on next week...........hopefully should go without a hitch on a 08MY D3 XS.

Straight swap on to my D3 with no problems..............

Cheers

Netherlands 2006 Discovery 3 TDV6 HSE Auto Zambezi SilverDiscovery 3

Hello
I have 275/45/20 now. For a expedition trip, I need more sidewall hight, but I really don't want to loose the V sport
rims. If I go to 285/50/20 Cooper LTZ Zeon, the total diameter becomes 31.2 ".
The car will take it but how can you measure if it will take it fully turned and compressed in the schocks?
To make matters more complicated: I have an electronic handlingkit , which heightens 2 " and lowers 1" , irrespective of speed, just with a switch. But I think this doesn't change the "stops" at the shocks limits.
The reason I don't go to a smaller rim is that the brakes are bigger than standard and only will take 19".
That gives a higher wall but looses the nice rims with a minimal advantage on the sidewall.
Does anyone know a good solution? Thanks in advance.
