LR use this dimple/hole change on the 20" FFRR 7 spoke alloys as well. If I recall correctly, dimple = pre 06 FFRR, hole - post 06 FFRR. I've not seen it on these 19's, as I thought these were only released/sold post 07.

To be honest i have tried another wheel the same design and size from my dads ffrr and there was probably only another mm clearance on the bit of the caliper. Not sure why the pre 06 wheels dont fit but i suspect its the hubs that catch. Wondering if my calipers are at fault?

I've updated the lead post on this thread to reflect the dimple issue until clarified Thumbs Up

Pre 06 FFRR used a different hub, post 06 it used the same hub/brake set up as D3 and RRS, which is why early FFRR 19's dont fit (although same pitch size and hub hole size), and why early FFRR7 spoke 20's are differnt to post 06 FFRR 7 spoke 20's (alough they look the same, these also use the dimple/hole as the difference.

sorry to sound thick but what do you mean by the hole reference? Mine have a dimple others dont have dimples or holes?? Pre 2006 wheels dont fit but why? i know they catch and the bolt holes are different but would they actually mount on the hubs or not at all?? Mine have mounted fine but around 3/4 of the inner hub has just scuffed the paint off on the caliper no more than a light scuff.

IIRC, the offset was slightly different for pre 2006 FFRRs.

Just so you know 20" Hole = Pre 2006 Dimple = Post 2006 on the FFRR

just so we know what we are looking at heres a pic of the dimples:

Okay as far as i can tell the wheels i have (dimpled) are post 06. I have compared with a set of 18" pre 06 ffrr wheels and the hubs are way different easy to tell so i can rule out them being pre 06 i think. Have inspected the back of the standard 18" alloys that were on the car and can see a faint line aroung the inner rim where although not rubbing it must have been bloody close as there is a visible mark.
In conclusion:
As i have fitted another set of 19" seven spokes which cleared the caliper by maybe 1-2mm i can only conclude that
A) my 19" 7 spokes may have slightly more paint on the rears as they looked a bit different to my dads as his were less shiny on the back more a matt primer finish
b) my calipers are not standard or are out of alignment/bent missing a spacer/washer somewhere
c) the wheels are copies all be it very good and have a few mm extra alloy possibly dur to them taking a mould of the original wheels

Will inspect the inner wheel today as have put 50miles on them today to see if they are rubbing.[/img]

Ok, just trying something out here to post a photo so please excuse if i have it wrong. Here's the 20s now on the '05 V8 HSE. I reckon they're nice. The tyres are a Nexen Rodian HP 295X45X20 114 Load rating. Thanks to Ronp and others for advice along the way. I also did a full Disc rotor and pad changeout at the same time to avoid additional wheel handling - a dead easy job by the way (if you have the Torx50).

But the Cheese went and scraped them the next day on an angry kerb! I was wild and apparently i had no right to be. Oh well. Here goes the photo. Check my gallery for a couple of others.

Looking to buy an orignal Land Rover/Range Rover set of these 20's - whats the latest view on the best all round tyres for them - the 275/45/20 or the 294/45/20 - will the bigger size fit without rubbing using these rims ??(don't know the offset):
