Finally decided with my D4 just at 5 years old it might be time to update, only to find no HSE.
Worse still, the new Landmark version does not appear to be configurable on the website with locking rear diff.
I've rasied a question direct with LR about whether it can be added.
Does anyone on here know if it can still be ordered ?D4 SDV6 HSE 11MY - Gone

Unless you can find the spec you want as dealer stock I think you will be stuck. Was in the dealers yesterday and they said they were losing quite a few sales.MY06 S - Gone but not forgotten

Agreed, and strangely enough LR have now removed the ability to filter the rear locking diff off the used vehicle section too.D4 SDV6 HSE 11MY - Gone

Time to make a choice I think. I believe the new D5 will be pushed beyond most but the deepest pockets. I had a DS out last week, a HSE Lux and was impressed. I could live with it without compromising too much on size and the prices were okay.

It's quite hard to live with the next generation of Freelander when you have paid D4 money.Land Rover - Turning Drivers into Mechanics Since 1948

Hadn't thought of anything else other than a Land Rover. I'd limit myself to not spending more than the early £40's. I like the D4, but now it's out of warranty, it's maybe time to change, plus I hate forking out £500 for the excise licence. I was quite surprised I got on so well with the Sport. You still have the option of the 7 seats if needed and I've only used them half a dozen times in three years, plus the new Infotainment is just about instant.

Disco Sport
*Rattling parcel shelf, mines lived in the shed
*B pillar rattle
*2nd row seating rattle
*Lack of height adjust for front seatbelts
*Clumsy infotainment, what happened to just pressing a button to change the blowers instead of 3
*Poor ambient lighting not as shown in the brochure
*3rd row seat belts don't stay in the little clips when not used, more rattles
*Rear seats don't fold flat.
*Advertised with command driving position. No it doesn't
*Reverse lights poor, even with LED upgrade
I do like the look of it.
Those that love it, love it and those that hate it, hate it.

If you go for the DS, I hope it works out well for you.
But, when I looked at the DS when still had the FL2, there were too many things that were a step backwards from the FL2, let alone the D4: The barely "command" driving position, the poor view out of the front, the way I had to duck down low to get into the back seat and the non fold down flat back seat. If circumstances meant that I had to go back to an FL2, I could deal with it. I wouldn't be happy with a Disco Sport.
Looking on Autotrader, with a budget somewhere between "early 40's" and the price of a new DS HSE Lux could get you a near new D4 HSE, complete with low RFL. That'd be a nice easy choice 2011 - 2015: 3 x FL2

The DS I found a step down in terms of trim and general feel about the cabin - it's very car-like to me and nowhere near as nice as my D4.
The driving position in relation to the bonnet line, and in fact the whole front style/design is not conducive to knowing where you are placing your car unlike the D4 - whilst I'm sure it is something you get used to it, to me, is the reason they then need to worry about things like transparent bonnet tech.
The infotainment system in the DS's I have had from the LR dealer have been shocking - poor satnav performance (in terms of just hanging on the screen for ages, sometimes as long as the journey!!), the whole system isn't intuitive at all for the common everyday stuff I use. The D4 system isn't perfect but it is far far better than the DS.
I'd go as far as to say if they used the same plastics, some level of build QA and same infotainment system as the DS on the D5 it would be enough for me to steer well clear of the replacement.MY15 DIY Black Pack (Better than factory and half the price!)
