Not really, factories don't hold stock any more; it's all ordered for specific builds and delivered on a just in time basis.
I'm relieved that I ordered mine just in time, but irritated that LR should feel that this poor choice should be considered "good enough"  if mine were (God forbid) written off, or stolen, then the Landmark is close to perfect for spec. However, none of the, inexplicably, extremely limited choice of colours would be passed by "Management"!  2011 - 2015: 3 x FL2

2023 to date: 2 x FL2 as “second” cars 🙄

As discussed elsewhere, I have had it confirmed from two dealers that 16.5MY is Graphite and Landmark (plus Commercial) only. The other models are unavailable, and you cannot have the high-spec Landmark in anything but greyscale or gold. 06 D3 SE / 15 LR D90 XS SW / 88 LR 90 Td5 / 68 BMW 2000 ti

Is there a suspicion that JLR are trying to jump on the band-wagon that is the Defender run out models and make even more dosh??
With a Defender, having only one or three models works well as even new ones are personalised from day one without hitting it's value.
However, when shopping for something like a Disco then standard or "factory" is best (IMHO) so personalisation isn't such a great idea (nothing major anyway).
If they only have to make a very select range even the JIT system can have some fat trimmed to help the profits roll in.
The competitiors must be laughing their socks off

HSE back on UK configurator at the moment  it just let me build one which it wouldn't the other day. Tried to get as close as I could to my current spec £65,817  MY06 S - Gone but not forgotten

As I said ready for the D5 to be launched early next year. Some makers of parts like trim have been told to stop all D4 production from Christmas on as it will not be needed!!!!!!! MY17 D5 1st Edition Namib Orange

I'm quite excited about the D5 now, I'm mentally preparing myself it won't be quite as practical and just looking forward to a new platform. My current car is great but I can't get over the fact I've just spent ££££ on a 10 year old car! hopefully ill be able to sell my current D4 for a good price when the D5 is announced if Landrover have stopped making it now the demand for higher spec D4's should be high. Just been back in to the configure your car and if you go to models it shows all the original models plus the two new. Lets you build them as well. Wouldn't let you do that last week as only the two new and the commercial shown. If you go straight to build your own without looking at available models you just get the option of the two new and the commercial. ODD Discovery 4 HSE Montalcino Red
