EPB fault
Had a look at a few threads on here but they don't seem to be the same symptoms as I have. Never had any handbrake issues until a few weeks ago. Whilst driving the amber and red lights came on and also 'park brake fault' on dash. It seemed to be intermittent as after operating the switch many times the actuator did work. Worked once or twice and then nothing. I removed and cleaned the switch but still the same. Today I removed the nsf arch liner and sprayed the multi plug with cleaner, but to be honest it was dry and spotless. I then looked for the rear multi plug but the only one I could find was on top of the chassis next to the spare wheel. I didn't have time to remove the wheel and inspect it but I did give the wires a waggle! The fault is still there, but before, the lights and fault came on as soon as the ignition was switched on,but now they only come on when operating the brake switch. If you turn ignition off and back on it seems to clear until the next time you operate the switch. Operating the switch whilst driving does not work the emergency brake feature either.
Anyone had similar fault or know the next step to take? I was thinking of replacing the switch first to eliminate that. Can anyone recommend someone local to Newport who specialises in Landrover? It's better to Laugh than Cry

Update on this problem.
I have eliminated the switch by trying a new one. The fault is still intermittent so suspect a wiring problem. Are there any mobile technicians on here that could come to Newport? I also now have an intermittent central locking problem, believed to be the wiring in the n/s sill area,so for anyone willing there would be two jobs to fix! It's better to Laugh than Cry

Central locking problem fixed.......I hope! I couldn't find the green/white wires next to the seat but found them further forward. The wires had insulation tape around them. As I undid the tape one of the wires just broke away. The two remaining wires were held in a piece of heat shrink and while looking at this another broke away. Cut off, stripped back, soldered etc and all replaced as it should be. Took about an hour Let's hope the problem doesn't return! A few pics enclosed so you can see where the wires were on my vehicle

Great pictures disconev! I haven't seen this junction so far forward. They will, certainly, help others.

Let's hope they do
I searched the loom next to the seat where the smaller loom splits off and could find nothing! After a bit of head scratching I decided to widen the search area and that's when I eventually found the joint. It's better to Laugh than Cry

disconev - You describe my exact EPB problem. What was the eventual fix?

When I had a similar problem I read somewhere that there should be a permanent feed to the brake light switch and somewhere behind the dash there are similar joints to that of the locking splice and they give the same problem.
I ran a new feed to the brake light switch and it cured my issue and I have not had a problem with it since
This was the post i saw, it was from Disco Mikey
A mate had this exact fault on his car a few weeks ago! Even down to it didnt happen until the brake pedal was released... There is a thread I started about it as it broke down away down South...
Eventually got it recovered up the road and I had a look at it. Eventually traced it to low power on the red wire at the brake pedal switch.
The wire comes from the fuse box, has 2 splice joints before it then goes off to the brake switch. As a temp. repair to get it mobile again, we just took an ignition feed straight down to the switch, until we have time to get it repaired properly.
Not entirely sure where either of the original splice joints are, but they go to the HDC switch and DSC switch from memory, so they may be up behind the dash or centre console someplace...
